James Reid
James Reid is inspired to capture the beauty of the American west working in oils, his wildlife fine art paintings and those of the working cowboy are popular with collectors for capturing the accuracy of the animals and the beauty of their environment.
James Reid started a career in retail advertising and commercial art and moved to Klamath Falls, Oregon. Influenced by the outstanding Western Art at the Favell Museum in Klamath Falls, Jim started oil painting seriously in the 1970s after completing the “Famous Artists Course.”
Showing his work at Western Art Shows and galleries in the Northwest, Jim changed careers and went into retail management which limited his time, but not his desire for painting and his dream of being a full-time artist. He spends much of his time out in the field gathering material and studying his subjects. A participant in many national juried shows and competitions, his work is in private collections throughout the United States and Canada.
